TRISECKS: FEMALE-BETA PAIRS
Long-term one-to-one relationships exist between Beta-Males and Females (monogamy is insisted upon by the Beta-Male and mandated by social norm). These relationships are formed during an elaborate annual pairing ritual in which all recently-matured Beta-Males choose a Female of the same age during a one-month frenzy. These bonds are usually life-long, again due to cultural norm, although in modern times there have been occasional separations and re-pairings.
